I am cramming for a upcoming exam now.
Modernity in Asia, how many concepts need to be crammed, the list is endless, ......... name it, modernity, modernization, industrialization, wars, treaties, imperialism, colonialism, nationalism, westernization, democratization, urbanization, ideology, political, military, technology, economy, education, state intervention, tradition, Asian values, Neo-Confucianism, institutions, constitutions, laws, infrastructures, land reforms, revolutions, military rules, elites, meritocracy, corruptions, populations, labors, egalitarianism, social hierarchy, railways, port cities, globalization, capital, investment, GDP, free market, goods and services, human rights, civil liberties, freedom, position of women, religions, social division, power struggle, popular cultures, soft powers,............
Oh, my God, I pray, how can I guess which concepts will be examined? Could you give me a hint? I'm sure I had enough now, and I'm sure I will regret I missed something tomorrow. Every time, an exam is just like a big joke: what prepared and what examined are never matched.
Besides, the exam preparation drives everybody at home mad, I just received a complaint.
